GlobeJot
I’m not at all organized when I travel. Going to the airport, for me, means having a dozen different scraps of paper scribbled with random bits of information that I’ll need for my trip. Inevitably, I lose whichever scrap of data is most important for me to know at any given time. I built GlobeJot because travelers deserve a better way.

GlobeJot lets you manage four crucial types of travel info: flights, reservations, activity plans and checklists. It’s a fun, easy way to keep track of what you need to know on a trip. GlobeJot has lots of little slots for data — use as few or as many as you need to stay sane while on the move.
GlobeJot pays homage to the experience managing your travel info in a paper journal. The dashboard gives you an easily managed summary of everything you need to know about your trip.
Let’s travel better.
Flights
Like it or not, many trips require you to get on an airplane. GlobeJot eases the burden of flying by keeping all of your flight info right in your pocket. Keep track of your airline’s name and phone number, departure and arrival airports, flight times, confirmation codes, even gate and seat numbers. Late to the airport? Trouble with the airline? No problem — you can be on the phone with your airline with just one tap, right from your flight’s detail sheet (one-tap dialing for iPhone only).
Reservations
Where are you staying tonight? How do you get there? Let your iPhone worry about it with GlobeJot. GlobeJot stores the names, addresses, phone numbers, confirmation codes and date ranges for your reservations. One-tap maps and phone dialing let you find and connect to your destination easily.
Activities
I’m proudest of how GlobeJot handles activities. I think you’ll like it, too. If you’re anything like me, you have a long list of great stuff you’d love to do on your trip. You’re also only human and you won’t get to do all of it. Instead of treating your activities like appointments, GlobeJot’s quick entry field encourages you to make a blue sky list of everything you might want to do on your trip. Rate your activities by their relative cost and priority. When it’s time to plan your day, you can sort your list according to your ratings and ensure that you experience what’s most important to you. Once you’ve set off on your adventure, one-tap maps let you find where you’re going hassle-free.
Checklists
On my last big vacation, I left the bag that contained all of my clothes in my living room. Don’t be me. GlobeJot includes a lightweight checklist system. Make as many lists as you need, containing whatever tasks you want GlobeJot to worry about. Here’s a tip: if you’re bringing more than one bag, make a checklist of everything you need to load in the car. You’ll be so glad you did.
Dashboard
The GlobeJot dashboard brings it all together. List your flights, reservations, activities and checklists in any order you’d like. Tap any item to view its detail sheet. When a piece of info isn’t important, remove it from the dashboard with just one tap. You clear the dashboard of clutter and your data is still safe in another tab.
Data Import
Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Come on, man! That’s a lot of data.” Oh, I know. That’s why GlobeJot includes support for TripIt.com. It’s absurdly simple: take those confirmation emails you get from your airline, hotel booking and car rentals. Forward them to plans@tripit.com. If you don’t already have one, TripIt will make you a new account. TripIt will then chew on your data and convert it to an online itinerary. GlobeJot can then import activities, reservations and flights from any of your TripIt trips. You could do this right now, while you’re sitting in the airport, waiting for your flight to leave. It’s that fast and simple.
Let’s Do It Better
I made GlobeJot for how I travel. If I can make it better for how you travel, we should talk. Please email your thoughts and feedback. I’d love to talk with you about how you use this application.
